This installation, presented at Portland’s Center for Contemporary Art & Culture, was meant to immerse and surprise viewers by taking them into a space that feels at once familiar and also deeply strange, a sensibility felt in the body. I painted all walls, office furniture, and 1990s office accessories the same shade of green with matching artificial grass carpeting lining the floor. This was an exploration of the artificiality of the sterile office environments we create, spaces where we perform productivity. It was intended to evoke a work space, yet without any evidence of real work taking place.
